About

As part of a new mixed use development designed by AHMM on Oxford Street, London, StudioFractal designed a light art installation within the highest corner of the building. A grid of LED points within the building following the flowing lines of the façade, creates a dynamic illuminated surface that complements the glazing undulations and frit pattern. Each LED point is individually controlled to create sinuous flowing ripples of light between each of the levels within the building. Subtle changes in colour, pattern, speed and brightness, provides an organic sculpture that appears slightly different each time it is viewed.

Testimonial
StudioFractal’s technical knowledge and creative input were instrumental in achieving our goals and demonstrating to the city council that we could deliver the artistic quality of this unique installation. The team at StudioFractal collaborated with us tirelessly from early conception through mock-ups to detail design, and were responsible for the installation and programming of the light work, as well as coordination with the main contractor. We enjoyed an excellent collaboration with StudioFractal at all levels for this technically and politically complex project and the resulting light installation helped the project to gain an RIBA National Award.”
